Al-Assad’s Fall and its Financial Consequences

The rebel offensive against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime commenced on November 27, 2024. By December 8, rebels had entered Damascus, leading to the collapse of Assad’s government. In total, the offensive spanned approximately only 11 days, culminating in the fall of a 5 decades long Alaouite regime and Assad’s departure to Russia, where he was granted asylum.
